100 Days of BMT

Why are the first 100 days of BMT critical?

The core work of our foundation is to ensure a smooth passage of the first 100 days of BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant). This is a time of great uncertainty, anxiety and critical decision-making during emergency situations. Caregivers and family require constant support, space for conversations, questions on diet and hygiene, not being able to process an emotion and more importantly handholding by someone who has been through the process before.

How BMTSF Supports You Through the 100 Days of BMT

Hence BMSTF has designed a special process to be with the patient throughout the first 100 days of this process. Medically, one is already in the best hands of capable and trained doctors, nurses and other staff, however there is limited space and time for doctors to hold other conversations in detail and most times both patients and families are left to themselves to address these issues. Hence, it is critical to be a part of a trust based community where one could have open and uncensored conversations around emotional conflicts and questions on progress of the treatment and find grounding and support from Survivors, experts, counsellors and a group of people going through similar journeys at different spaces.
